      The article reports that Symantec Corp. is to buy MessageLabs Inc. for $695 million in the U.S. MessageLabs is offering its software-as-a-service (SaaS) as a monthly subscription basis. SaaS has been increasingly popular in businesses because it helps administrators from installing software upgrades and performing other technical maintenance tasks. For Symantec, MessageLabs' acquisition gives that company an alternative electronic mail (e-mail) security to Brightmail, the firm's antispam and antivirus appliance. It states that the deal is expected to close by the end of December 2008.
