      The article reports on the prediction of Steve Pawlowski, an Intel Corp. senior fellow, that the industry will see computers running at sustained exaflops, that is, 1,000 petaflops, by 2017 or 2018 in the U.S. He stated that it will require major advancements on several fronts such as procesors, memory, interconnects and software. He explains that such fronts will be required to make hardware more energy-efficient.
