- Abstract:
The article presents a research on serotonin-reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) antidepressants which can damage the sperm's DNA and affects the fertility of men. Peter Schlegel and Cigdem Tanrikut of the Cornell Medical Center in New York City examined the sperm of 35 healthy men after a dose of a third SSRI called paroxetine was given over five weeks. The results will be presented at the American Society for Reproduction Medicine meeting in San Francisco, California in November 2008.
