      The article cites the findings of a study which examines the impact of radiation dose in patients with primary acute stone episodes conducted at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. It found that there was an increased media exposure and interest in the radiation doses received by patients and its potential effects on malignancy risk. It suggests that physicians need to be aware of the exposure they are giving to patients and seek alternative imaging strategies wherever possible.
