- Abstract:
The author focuses on the damage brought by the Russian forces as they attacked Georgia in August 2008. He notes that severe damages have been incurred by the Museum of Prince Matchabelli, the church of Saint George in Sveri, Ikota church and the monastery complex of Nikozi Church. He stresses that unlike Russia, the U.S. has avoided bomb damage to ancient sites nor encouraged allies to attack the culture of their rivals in Iraq and Kosovo. He adds that the Stalin Museum in Gori sustained no damage.
