Information about several topics discussed at the symposium on "Food Technology for Better Nutrition," held in New Delhi, India, is presented. Participants included Indian scientists as well as experts from the U.S., Thailand, and international agencies. Dr. Sherry A. Tanumihardjo made a presentation about the efforts to combat widespread micronutrient malnutrition. The symposium also featured a discussion on the use iodization of common salt as a means to combat goiter in India.
