The article discusses the significance of virtualization to the reduction of power consumption in data centers in the U.S. Virtualization has helped data centers in reducing their power consumption since it allows single server to act like multiple servers through hosting many applications, databases, or systems. Dave Hart, chief technology officer of Presidio Networked Solutions, states that virtualization does not only reduce power consumption but also space requirements and cooling costs.
