- Abstract:
The article offers information about intraocular pressure (IOP) and tonometry. IOP is a risk factor for the development of glaucoma and it is the only modifiable factor. It is determined by measuring the amount of aqueous humor. On the other hand, tonometry is a method which directly measures the IOP by overcoming the biomechanical influences of the cornea.
