The article offers information related to various egregious examples of government sanctioned protection left to greet the government of Kevin Rudd in Australia. The Institute of Public Affairs (IPA) has been at the forefront of arguing for the removal of restrictions on export wheat and other commodities in previous years. In addition, John Howard's government made some tentative reforms to free up the export of wheat and allow the issuing of bulk export permits.
