    • Abstract:
The article reports on the epidemiology of feline urethral plugs. It states that of 506 urethral plugs submitted to the urolith center by veterinarians in 2007, the mineral composition of about 92% was primarily struvite, with only 1% composed of calcium oxalate. Moreover, it was noted that the high preponderance of struvite in urethral plugs was of clinical significance in terms of the design of dietary strategies to prevent their formation.
