    • Abstract:
The article discusses the tools used by astrobiologists in the search for life in the heavens. In 2008, astronomers discovered soil and ice on Mars as well as a trio of Earth-like planets in a star system light years from Earth. The author also discusses the Allen Telescope Array which is a group of 42 radio dishes in California's Cascade Mountains and how the SETI Institute plans to listen for any indication of life in outer space. Other planets and devices are also discussed.
