    • Abstract:
The article presents a comparative perspective of military regimes and rights in developing countries. The literature of the 1960s and 1970s has effectively challenged the dedication of military professionals taking over from corrupt, inefficient civilians in developing countries. Most of the literature during the time has been devoted to explain the reasons for military coups and the failure of military rule to cope with economic problems. It also presents a study on the failure of military regimes to do better, economically, than civilian governments.
