    • Abstract:
The author offers opinions on how journalists from traditional mass media should report on the influence of World Wide Web and Web 2.0 features such as blogs and online social networks on U.S. politics. Journalists are reminded that the Web itself is merely a communications tool akin to a telephone, and that the important feature of its role in politics is the people who are using it. The importance of online social networks in the campaign of U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama is noted, and the author forecasts all other candidates will follow suit in future elections.
