- Abstract:
The article cites political developments in Algeria as of May 2008. The Islamist Nahda movement has urged the authorities to ignore campaigns by foreign media and political circles, accusing them of harassing and denying religious freedom to Christians in the country. A court in Boumerdes sentenced 24 suspected militants to death for membership of an armed terrorist group, illegal weapons ownership, kidnapping and using explosives.
