EFFECT OF SOWING DATE ON YIELD OF SEED CORN. (English)
    • Abstract:
Trials were organized in 2003 and 2004 to assess the effect of three sowing dates on the yield performance of three corn lines from different FAO maturity groups (FAO 400, 500 and 600). The sowing dates were set at 10-day intervals. Yield performance of the lines was assessed on the basis of hybrid seed production volume. In 2003, regular and linear yield reductions occurred with delay in sowing date in all three FAO maturity groups. Significant differences were found among the tested lines. In 2004, the highest yield was obtained with line L3 and the earliest sowing date, the lowest with line L1 and the second sowing date. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
