    • Abstract:
The article features the ancient Mayan city Chichén Itzá in the Yucatán state of Mexico. It was inhabited by the Mayan Itzá tribe around the 6th century A.D. Its name reflects the wells in the limestone formations. Some structures to be found in the city include the Pyramid of Kukulcan and The Great Ball Court. It was abandoned around the end of 7th century A.D. and then, in the 10th century, the Maya has returned, adding magnificent buildings, porches, and carvings.
