In this article the author discusses gender equality legislation in Great Britain. She notes that the achievement of universal suffrage in the 1920s did not guarantee equality of the sexes. It is noted that in 2008 women in Great Britain still face discrimination in employment, are victimized by the sex industry and are targets of sexual violence.
