      The article focuses on the arrest of Grigory Pasko, journalist and poet who worked for the Russian Navy's newspaper "Boyevaya Vakhta" and freelance journalist for the Japanese media. He was arrested in 1997 after he reported Russia's dumping of nuclear waste into the sea for the possession of state secrets with intent to supply them abroad. On January 23, 2003, Pasko was released when a civilian court overruled a military court's guilty verdict of his treason case on December 25, 2001.
