      The article focuses on the anaesthesia for geriatric dog and cat. In this paper, the effect of ageing process on physiological responses under anaesthesia and places the geriatric patient at increased risk is tackled. It also discusses how pre-anaesthetic assessment and stabilisation improve the outcome when anaesthetising the geriatric patient. Methods of anaesthetising the older patient and providing care in the post-operative period are also provided.
