      The article offers information on the global hair trade. The author particularly focused on Chandra Talpade Mohanty's position on the exploitative relationship between Third World producers and First World consumers as it relates to the global hair trade and labor issues. He also discussed the nature of business of Great Lengths International wherein he said that this is a multinational 'natural hair extensions company' that specializes in the manufacture of 100% human hair extensions made from Indian hair. He also mentions that the company is based in Rome and was founded in London, England in 1991 by hairstylist David Gold.
