    • Abstract:
This article focuses on a racially and ethnically diverse faculty in higher education. Statistical evidence is given showing slow growth in black, Hispanic, and American Indian/Alaskan Native faculty. Education attainment data for minorities is offered. Techniques for monitoring and measuring faculty diversity throughout the U.S. are discussed. Research on faculty diversity from a private research university on the northeast U.S. is presented and the data is evaluated. The article suggests that institutions of higher learning should monitor faculty diversity with a granular approach.
