    • Abstract:
The article reports on the partnership formed by the Illinois Public Health Association (IPHA) and the Illinois Department of Public Health Center for Minority Health Services to launch Illinois Women Against Cervical Cancer. The community-based partnership aims to eliminate cervical cancer by having trained advocates educate women about prevention and early detection. The initial phase of the program will be led by the Urban Leagues of Champaign, Peoria and Springfield, which were awarded mini-grants from IPHA to target minority communities that are disproportionately at risk for cervical cancer.
