ASSOCIATION OF THE BALTIC COUNTRIES VERSUS THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND IN THE POLICIES OF VILNIUS CONSERVATIVES. (English)

The article is devoted to the historical investigations regarding the association of the Baltic countries versus the Republic of Poland in the policies of Vilnius conservatives (1922). The grounding of the Baltic countries during the First World War, especially of Lithuania and Latvia, was not considered in the programmes of any of the Polish parties and political factions. Resulting territorial claims made by Poland along with the demands made by the above mentioned Baltic countries were the cause of numerous conflicts between the Republic of Poland and these states and the late establishment of diplomatic relations, with the exception of Lithuania. They were commenced by talks concerning cooperation between the Bal-tic countries and Poland which resulted in signing of a repelling alliance treaty on the 17^th of March 1922. The treaty did not come into force because of the lack of ratification from the parliament of Finland. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Straipsnyje pateikiami nauji istorinių tyrimų duomenys apie 1922 m. rengtą Baltijos šalių sąjungos projektą, turejusį tapti atsvara Lietuvos santykiams su Lenkija. Straipsnyje atskleidžiamas to meto Vilniaus konservatorių požiūris į šio aljanso perspektyvas. Pirmojo pasaulinio karo metais Lenkijos politinės partijos ar jų frakcijos neturėjo aiškios nuostatos Baltijos š alių, taip pat ir Lietuvos bei Latvijos atžvilgiu. Tuometinės Lenkijos teritorinės pretenzijos Lietuvai sąlygojo daugelį politinių konfliktų tarp Baltijos šalių ir Lenkijos Respublikos. Dėl šių priežasčių buvo vėluojama užmegzti normalius diplomatinius santykius su Latvija ir Estija. Baltijos šalių bei Lenkijos derybose buvo siekiama stabilumo Baltijos šalims bei glaudesnio jų tarpusavio bendradarbiavimo. Cia buvo svarstoma ir Baltijos ųalių politinės sajungos sutartis, pasirašyta 1922 m. kovo 17 d. Ši sutartis neįsigaliojo, jos neratifikavus Suomijos parlamentui. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
