The article presents the author's views about Hazleton, Pennsylvania's initiatives to address the issue of immigration. According to the author, the Hazleton ordinances represent widespread and understandable dissatisfaction, not only in Hazleton but throughout the U.S., with ineffective enforcement of U.S. immigration law by the federal government and with the resulting increase in the number of illegal aliens in the U.S.
