      The article focuses on Eco Machines, which are living machines developed by John Todd as a natural means of wastewater treatment. It notes that the system was developed at the nonprofit research organization, Ocean Arks International, and that Eco Machines, or Advanced Ecologically Engineered Systems (AEES), were tested under grants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The article examines AEES sites in Massachusetts and Vermont. The importance of showing the public how wastewater is treated is discussed.
