The author aim to determine the avifauna of the island and its similarities to other areas. A survey was done on literature concerning the populations of birds in the region which may have similarities with species of North America, Asia, and Pacific Ocean islands. Holartic affinities were determined by the relationship between the areas and the distribution of breeding grounds. The study found that seventy percent of the regular species breeding on the island are common to North America and Asia. An overview of the study is provided.
