    • Abstract:
The article highlights a study which found the prevalence of cerebral microbleeds in older adults. It references a study by Meike W. Vernooj and colleagues published in a 2008 issue of "Neurology." Accordingly, they used a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequence that was optimized for the detection of cerebral microbleeds to examine 1,062 randomly selected older adults. They have found that the overall prevalence of cerebral microbleeds was three to four times higher than previous estimates.
