- Abstract:
The article discusses the structure of polymers, as well as their molecular arrangement and characteristics. A polymer is a multi-unit molecule that is made up mostly of carbon and hydrogen. Some have a silicon or phosphorous backbone, thus they are considered as inorganic polymers. The degree of polymers' translucence or opaqueness is affected by its crystallinity. Polymers can be very resistant to chemicals, and they can be both thermal and electrical insulators.
