The article reports on the decision of Film Industry Training Board (FITB) to force companies to pay for training in Great Britain. It stated that it would find little support if it were replicated in the engineering sector. FITB has been granted statutory powers to ensure that the film production companies invest in training. Moreover, it is promoting mandatory payment towards the Skills Investment fund as the most effective way of heading off skill shortages in the film production sector.
