    • Abstract:
The article discusses the functions of shells. Shells work like armor to help the animals stay safe, move, and even attack. Mollusks are the largest group of shelled creatures, while turtles are the only reptiles with shells. Most crustaceans have shells that are jointed, or pieced together, including the coconut crab and the lobster.
