- Abstract:
The article provides information on the largest family of Australian lizards, skinks. It states that there are nearly 400 species in the family including fire-tailed skink, land mullet, and limbless burrowing skinks. These lizards are found in every part of the country and have overlapping body scales and large symmetrical plate-like scales arranged side by side on top of the head with a broad fleshy tongue. Several images of these lizards including that of Pygmy spiny-tailed skink, Lancelin Island skink, and Blotched bluetongue lizard with their size and food specifications are also presented.
