The article discusses the impact of Internet sabotage on companies in the U.S. In January 22, 2006, Con Edison erroneously send out information to redirect Internet traffic intended for Martha Living Omnimedia to its own servers. Such mess lasted for 18 hours and experts stressed that Internet sabotage cannot be prevented by fixing the Internet. To minimize the damage, it is suggested to use monitoring to spot minor bottlenecks and major attacks. Technicians can use redundancy to guarantee that there is a path to the Internet even if the usual route is cut off.
