The article reports that improving user relations will be a key goal for SAP AG as it embraces service oriented architecture and on-demand services for mid-sized firms. It is reported that SAP is the third largest software supplier in the world, with more than 12 million users, 121,000 installations worldwide, 1,500 partners, more than 25 industry-specific business systems, and upwards of 41,200 customers in 120 countries. According to Steve Rogers, Great Britain managing director at SAP, the company is nowhere near best-in-class, but they are making progress. It is also reported that over the past few years SAP has developed a commanding position in the applications industry and within the wider software industry.
