    • Abstract:
The article discusses the legal and social ramifications of anti-refugee verses posted on the wall of a Dutch churchyard in London, England in May of 1593. It is reported that English dramatist Thomas Kyd was arrested in connection with the posting of the inflammatory verses. The role of poet Christopher Marlowe in Kyd's arrest is considered and the author speculates as to the identity of the man identified as "Shore," who was ultimately charged with posting the verses.
