    • Abstract:
The article presents an analysis on the different studies of the economic impact of colleges in the U.S. They reveal that the $1.403 billion education-related expenses in the University of Hawaii generates $1.973 billion sales, $1.243 billion employee earnings, $132 million state revenues and 35,800 jobs. The University of Southern California earns over $1.4 billion while Rhode Island has a state revenue of $753 million. However, it is argued that earnings of students who migrate and join the local force after graduation should be excluded in the analysis because they are not part of initial local population.
