The article discusses the understanding on Ebstein's anomaly of the tricuspid valve. Ebstein's anomaly is a congenital heart malformation which was first described by Wilhelm Ebstein in 1866. It is characterized by any degree of inferior malformation of the proximal attachments of the septal and posterior leaflets of the tricuspid valve from the atrioventricular ring. The uncommon malformation has a variable natural history and prognosis with age.
