      This article states that the European Commission has announced a series of proposals to cut emissions from industrial installations in the European Union (EU) as part of planned changes to the commission's integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) directive. The commission is also due to unveil an additional set of proposed emission cuts as part of a review of the EU's Emission Trading System (ETS) that is scheduled to be published on January 23, 2008.
