    • Abstract:
The article presents an argument for the standardization of an ecologically sound forestry management system by the Canadian lumber industry. The author argues that logging practices are not sustainable and risk devastating the ecosystems upon which they rely for resources. Clearcutting practices are explored and the ecological effects of reforestation are examined. It is the author's opinion that the diversity present in Canadian forests must be preserved.
