This article offers advice to authors who wish to write in a similar style to that of author Charles Dickens. The article discusses the use of connotations, explains what connotations can do, and how to use descriptions to reinforce other motifs and meanings in the story. The article evaluates the words that Dickens selects to include in his writing, which are each very clear and evoke precise imagery.
