    • Abstract:
This article discusses the steps that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is taking to achieve the goals of lead poisoning prevention in children by 2010. According to the author, significant progress has been made in reducing the percentage of children who have high blood lead levels but there are still at risk populations. These problems will be addressed by providing health services and reducing primary exposure in identified urban areas with pre-1950 rental properties, public housing with children living in poverty or newly arrived immigrants, refugees or African-American residents.
