    • Abstract:
The article reports on the results of the journal's Vital Signs survey of information technology (IT) managers in the first-half of 2008 in the U.S. that shows a trend toward an increase in IT budget. The survey revealed that 47 percent of respondents expected their IT budget to increase. One of the respondents, chief executive officer Bogdan Butoi Teodorescu at Animas Corp.'s budget figures such as a head-count increase and budget boost have been approved. While, Michael Smith of Gartner Inc. which also conducted the same study showed that 60 percent of respondents also anticipated an increase. To address this concern, Andrew Bartels of Forrester Research Inc. lowered his overall hardware and software spending and advised chief information officers to plan for very small IT budget.
