- Abstract:
The article reports on the effects of the weakening value of U.S. dollar on many scientific communities around the world. According to Mike Tuts, program manager for the U.S. collaborators on Atlas, the weakening value of U.S. dollar does hurt American researchers who work at the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN) It is allegedly hard for them to adjust their compensation to the cost of living. The allegation is further supported by Joel Butler of the U.S. Section of the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment, who claims that the weakening starts to make people nervous. Butler also asserts that the situation may propel his company to reduce their community and do more work remotely.
