The article discusses allegations that Marion True, former curator of antiquities at the Getty Museum in New York City, has been involved in art trafficking. It is reported that a cult statue of the goddess Aphrodite is at the center of the scandal surrounding True and that True was fired from the Getty in 2005 following allegations that she improperly accepted a loan from antiquities collector Lawrence Fleischman. True's legal battles with the Greek and Italian governments are discussed.
