The article reports that the National Library of Scotland has experienced intense flood. The flood started on September 10, 2007 at around 11:30 p.m. after a sprinkler system was damaged and broken down which affected all the five floors of the library. The staff was unable to provide an accurate account on the impact and damages of the flood, however, the library's most valuable position were saved since it is already wrapped up before the flooding incident occur in lieu of the ongoing construction. In addition, the library serves as the curator of the world famous John McMUrray Archive containing the writings and works of Jane Austen, David Livingstone, Charles Darwin and others.
