      The article provides an overview of a national seminar on "Convergence of Conventional and Distance Modes of Education" and a national workshop on "Training of Academic Counsellors for the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) System" held in India in May 2007. It cites resource materials released at the seminar, including "Pedagogy, Science and Technology of Open and Distance Learning," a module for distance learners. One of the goals of the workshop was to orient the participants to the concept, theory and practice of distance education.
