The article reports that Avanir Pharmaceuticals gets special protocol assessment process for Zenvia, a drug for the treatment of patients with pseudobulbar affect. It stated that Pseudobulbar affect, also called involuntary emotional expression disorder and emotional lability, is a neurologic disorder that takes place secondary to neurologic disease or brain injury which causes abrupt and irregular episodes of crying, laughing, or other emotional displays.
