The article talks about breakfast and the breakfast products industry in the U.S. Data from the Seasonal Variation of Blood Cholesterol Study was used to evaluate the relation between eating patterns and obesity, and the results indicated that a greater number of eating episodes each day were associated with a lower risk of obesity. Nielsen data indicates that the top five breakfast foods, including ready-to-eat cereals, had equivalized unit volume declines in the 52 weeks ended August 11, 2007.
