- Abstract:
The article discusses how scientists are able to use a green fluorescent protein derived from bioluminescent jellyfish in order to determine the temperature in a lab-on-a-chip. The protein glows when submersed in a liquid, blinking rapidly when the liquid is cold and slowing as the liquid becomes warmer. Scientists have been able to determine temperature by observing the speed of blinking.
