- Abstract:
The article reports that a two year program was launched by Utah on July 31, 2007 to develop better standards for prescribing and using prescription analgesics in the U.S. Todd C. Grey, chief medical examiner stated that about 307 cases of death involved drug overdose and drugs commonly used are the methadone, morphine, oxycodone, hydrocodone and fentanyl. Based on the federal study, Utah leads the U.S. in the nonmedical use of analgesics were people took the pills in 2006 without prescription.
