      The issue of health disparities is being addressed at both the state and national level. However, a fundamental disparity between the overall health of men and women is not being addressed at either the state or federal level. FirstHealth Community Voices is working to raise awareness and understanding regarding the importance of establishing state level infrastructure to create health care safety nets for men. In addition to infrastructure, there is a need for communities to recognize this disparity and to conduct an assessment of men's health and target prevention, screening and educational programs to men.
